Pippa Neilson is a local Gower artist, trained as a potter/ceramicist.

Drawing from the natural and discarded resources of this area of outstanding natural beauty, she uses flotsam and jetsam, painted driftwood from washed up broken boats, ropes, nets, wire and plastic from the shoreline - creating a rich collection of beautiful, individual artworks.

The wild winds, full moon and high tide bring treasures to the Gower beaches, and Pippa's quirky and observant creativity breathes new life into these castaways….Her work includes framed mirrors, sculptures, chalk and pinboards, driftwood and ceramic mobiles and large-scale ceramic pieces. Her attention to small, detailed work shows in her range of handmade cards and jewellery. Pippa also paints canvases, some of which are currently displayed in the popular 'Slice' restaurant in Sketty, Swansea.

Each piece is unique and individual…recently, Pippa has created a collection of large, sculptural wooden boats from driftwood blocks and other found or recycled materials. Full of humour and warmth, these tugs and tankers reflect the silhouettes which pass across the horizon of Three Cliffs Bay, Pippa's home for most of her life.

Her deep love of this stunning place informs her work, and her ethos of caring for and keeping clean her 'extended home' – the beaches, dunes and cliffs that surround her wood-clad house and working cabin. A regular exhibitor, her work can be seen in galleries and cafes around the whole Gower peninsula.

Bespoke works are reasonably priced, and Pippa is always willing to discuss requirements and commissions. Her diverse work can be called imposing – elegant – 'shabby-chic' – quirky….her prices for ready-made pieces range from £10 to £700.

Hand-made cards are produced on high quality recycled paper and are available individually at £1.90, or in packs of 10 at £15. Each pack contains a variety of occasional titles.
